next at 11. rain clouds - rolling in. we've got the latest on this van aken. plus two people shot by police in the city's mission district - what were they doing pointing a replica gun? the news is next. strong it could cause the damage. possibly downed power lines. i will let you know more about the forecast. and that warm-up. >> developing news. a man who took hostages at a hillary clinton presidential campaign office back in 2007 has escaped from a minimal-security correctional facility in new hampshire. authorities say leeland eisenberg first went missing during an afternoon headcount. back in november 2007 eisenberg took control of a clinton campaign office -- claiming to have a bomb. no one was hurt during the five-hour standoff and the bomb was later revealed to be road flares. if found he will be charged with escape -- a felony which is punishable by three-and-a-half-to-seven years in prison. >> police shoot two people in the mission district after they say one of them pulled out a gun. this happened near 17th street and valenciaright in front of a police station. sfpd says that one of the two people shot by police

was holding an air-powered firearm at the time of the shooting kron 4's mike pelton shows us what neighbors saw. >> the police pulled their guns out. and they said to drop it, drop it and they shot. >> neighbors describe this herring a moment that led to a shooting in the mission district. >> i saw a group of a gentleman on the corner and it is like they are usually on the corner.. this argument escalated quickly out a gun >> the other officers that they had a gun. the other >> this is in called in and said that somebody had pulled out a gun. the officers ran out of the station and it was the case. and in fear of them getting shot officers found that it

was the case. and in fear of getting shot or killed fired upon the suspect and a strike the suspect. >> gunfire also said hit and authorities are now going to continue their investigation. but neighbors have seen enough. >> t the shooting is too much. >> both suspects are in the hospital with life- threatening injuries and as standard procedure the officers are on paid administrative leave. mike pelton, kron 4 news. >> a suspect is in police custody tonight.charged with killing a man during a family party in concord. kron 4's alecia reid has the details. neighbors tells us it was a party for a 12 year old. an argument turned deadly and police were called to the scene. officials say during the altercation at the park virginia garden apartments saturday night, 25 year old ismael garcia-ramirez was shot in the head. the attack happened in the parking lot of 10-90 mi casa court. it was a big party. people

were left scrambling to safety when police arrived, witnesses described the suspect, 29 year old vincent ochoa and his vehicle ---- which led police to him. after a search of the area, authorities found ochoa at his apartment on monument boulevard near victory lane --- not far from the crime scene. ochoa was arrested without incident. he's being charged with first degree homicide. we're told this is the first official homicide in concord since october of 2011. in the newsroom alecia reid kron 4 news. tonight was a big game for the warriors as they are looking to clinch a spot in the playoffs. kron 4's scott rates shows us how they did, and what fans think! >> they would have needed a victory today against the jazz but the utah jazz beat the golden state warriors by seven points. much to the dismay. >> it was a bad performance

a u-s diplomat was among six americans killed in afghanistan this weekend. smoke from a roadside bombing was in the air here in the southern afghan province of zabul saturday. >> you can see emergency personnel treating injured people following the attack. five americans died in the blast. including 25-year- old anne smedinghoff. she was delivering books to a school when her convoy came under attack. it's believed she's the first american diplomat killed since the sep in benghazi, libya. secretary of state john kerry spoke about meeting smedinghoff days before the deadly attack. >> i want to emphasize that

she was right about everything about this. i have the privilege of meeting her just a few days ago when i was in afghanistan. and she was someone who worked hard. so others could lead a better life. >> officials have not said who they believe is responsible for the blast. robert morris university is planning on addressing allegations that former coach mike rice had physical confrontations with players during his three seasons at the school. last tuesday this video surfaced of rice's abusive practices at rutgars. it was brought forth during an interview with former basketball player eric murdock. he says there were rumors of fights between up to five coaches and a single player during practices at robert morris. the schools athletic director plans to address the issue on monday or tuesday. after the university wraps up their own internal investigation.

congress returns from spring break monday, and immigration reform tops the agenda. senators on both sides of the aisle make up the "gang of eight," which is preparing to release its long-awaited plan for resolving the status of some 11 million undocumented men, women, and children currently living in the united states. cristina mutchler has the story. >> "the time is now for immigration reform!" >> reporter: more than a thousand immigrants and supporters rallied in new jersey to send a message to capitol hill. when congress returns this week, eight senators -- four republicans and four democrats --- are set to deliver a bipartisan immigation reform proposal that includes a 13- year path to citizenship. >> "we don't want this bill to be, you know, 53 democrats and just a handful of republicans because we need broad bipartisan support, particularly to get a bill done in the house." >> "if we give them a pathway to citizenship that's earned and hard and fair, get in the back of the line, pay taxes, learn the english language, then the democratic party has to give us a guest worker program to help our economy.

that's what we're arguing over." >> reporter: democratic congressman rush holt, who participated in the weekend rally, said he has concerns about the guest worker program. >> "if there is going to be something like that, it's got to be structured in such a way that we don't denegrate and commit to a second-class status, workers." >> reporter: the plan also may meet resistance from wary conservatives who may view it as a form of amnesty for those who enter the country illegally. a group of house members also is working on a bipartisan immigration reform plan. there is one thing republicans and democrats in both the house and senate seem to agree on. >> "all of it has to be fixed. it is broken from a to z. we have to fix it." i'm cristina mutchler for kron 4 news. >> more details expected to come out of the senate plan this week -- a fine for undocumented workers, who would also have to pay back taxes and pass a background check. a commission would be created to establish a measure of border security, and no undocumented worker would be eligible for citizenship until the border is considered secure.

thousands are expected to converge outside the capitol to urge congress to enact legislation this year. >> west tonight. we have seen the rainfall but a bit of a break through san francisco drizzle. other parts of the bay area here is live stormtracker 4. there rain has subsided but still steady and widespread to concord livermore and the east bay. taking a closer look at cordelia we can see the heavier rainfall moving towards antioch and pittsburgh. probably within a 30-45 minutes. most of the east bay inland will see light/moderate rain. and along the east shore of long 880 towards fremont. with mainly light showers

from sunnyvale to san jose and towards morgan hill. these showers will stick around for a couple of hours and this is midnight. the east bay. by 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. the rainfall could be over but spotty showers possible. we are not only watching the rain clear out but the clouds. sunshine, it will be completely sunny and clear. we will see some strong winds over 30 m.p.h. they are going to increase as we go out through the day tomorrow. we could be seeing wince at 50 mph. even stronger tonight, residual showers. and warming up for tuesday towards wednesday.

watch the greek independence day parade and celebration. as it made its way down market street to city hall. complete with parade floats and children in costumes, the bay area greek community celebrated the 192nd anniversary of greece's independence from the ottoman empire. the festival included greek food and featured a mini folk dance competiton. as you can see by these young folks in traditional garb. as they say.opa! coming up after the break. it was a busy day for our bay area sports teams. we'll take a closer look at how each team faired and then hear from giants ace matt cain about his start today. those stories and more coming up next.

slaughter scored 18-points and hit six three-pointers to lead louisville over cal. this is the first time that a number five seed has won a final four game in the women's tournament. they join louisville's men's for the national championship. the national championship is on tuesday when louisville will face connecticut. matt cain made a little bit of history on the day that the world champion giants got their championship rings. too bad it's a record that no pitcher wants to hold. cain becomes the first giants pitcher since 1902 to allow nine runs in an inning -- as the giants got clobbered by the saint-louis cardinals 14-to-three. cain only managed to stay in the game for three-and- two-thirds-innings. and had to say after the game. now the giants turn their attention to the visiting colorado rockies. the amount of of things just got not very sharp for the first couple of innings and it kind of fell apart. but it definitely an exciting day for all of us we wanted to see the rain and it turned out great but i do wish that for myself i would have done better for myself. just to keep the excitement

going. first game of the series is set for tomorrow when madison bumgarner takes the mound. the a's hit three home runs as they went on to beat the astros nine-to-three. jed lowrie and coco crisp each hit their third home run of the year -- and second in as many days -- as the a's swept the three- game series with the astros. brett anderson struck out ten in another strong pitching performance. a's fans got a scare in the fifth inning when outfielder josh reddick collided with the wall while trying to chase down a ball in fall territory. he left the game but x-rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day with a right wrist sprain. on tuesday the a's head to los angeles for a series with the angels. the sharks seven game win streak is over. the dallas stars snapped the streak -- beating the sharks today five-to-four in a come from behind victory. the sharks went up early two-to-nothing but couldn't hold off a late run by the stars -- despite scoring four goals.
